Paris Saint-Germain officially presented the new head coach of the team, Christophe Galtier. From now on, the 55-year-old specialist will lead the team. On Tuesday, PSG officially said goodbye to Mauricio Pochettino, who had been in charge of the team for 1.5 years, and hired C. Galtier. The Frenchman will be the 7th PSG coach in 10.5 years. In late 2011, Antoine Kombouare was fired, followed by Carlo Ancelotti, Laurent Blanc, Unai Emery, Thomas Tuchel, and the recently dismissed Argentine. C. Galtier led Lille to triumph in the Ligue 1 championship for just over a year. Prior to that, the 55-year-old coach trained the Saint-Etienne team, with whom he was also very competitive.
In an official press conference, the newly appointed coach of the Paris team spoke about Neymar's future and his decision to take on the job. "The presence of Luis Campos in the club was a decisive factor. I am taking on the job at Paris Saint-Germain with humility, but also with great determination," said C. Galtier. "I want Neymar to stay in our team. He is a world-class player, all the world's coaches want to work with players like him. I already have clear plans for Neymar's role at PSG," he said. Recently, Neymar has been heavily linked with a departure. C. Galtier himself, along with L. Campos, the new sporting director of PSG, has worked at Lille.
