The club "Cagliari", competing in the second division of Italy, officially announced that the new head coach of the team is Claudio Ranieri, who returned after 31 years.
The Italian, who previously coached "Cagliari" for three seasons, revealed himself as a strategist by leading the club from "Serie C" to "Serie A".
"I am returning to 'Cagliari': I always knew I would return, I even said so when I left," - said the 71-year-old coach on the club's website.
"'Cagliari' made me understand that maybe I could achieve something in my work. During those three years I spent at the club, I found all the elements that helped me: the fans, the players, the management, we were all like one family."
"These days you helped me make this decision, which for various reasons was not easy. We are connected by mutual respect and love, many beautiful memories."
Claudio Ranieri is best known as the coach who miraculously won the "Premier League" with "Leicester City" in the 2015-16 season. Since then, he has coached teams such as "Nantes", "Fulham", "Roma", "Sampdoria", and "Watford".
