UEFA President Aleksander Čeferinas confirmed that the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League season will be concluded in an unusual format. It has been officially announced that the remaining four Champions League quarter-final matches will take place at the host stadiums. If the situation does not allow for this, the matches will be moved to Portugal. From the quarter-finals onwards, where four teams have already secured their spot, the matches will be played without second legs - the winner will immediately receive a direct ticket to the next stage. This means that all four quarter-finals and two semi-finals will be played in a single-match format. The Champions League final in Lisbon will take place between August 12-23. The final will also be played in the capital of Portugal. The crucial quarter-final matches before the tournament in Portugal still to be played by these pairs: "Man City" - "Real", "Barcelona" - "Napoli", "Juventus" - "Lyon", and "Chelsea" - "Bayern". The Europa League season will also finish in a similar format - with one quarter-final and one semi-final match. The remaining tournament matches will be held in four German cities between August 10-21 - Cologne, Duisburg, Dusseldorf, and Gelsenkirchen.
The #UCL quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final will be played as a straight knockout tournament in Lisbon between August 12 and 23, 2020. All these ties will be single-leg fixtures.
