On Wednesday evening, Lisbon's Benfica club officially announced that they have sold midfielder Nemanja Matic.
The 25-year-old footballer is returning to London's Chelsea team for 25 million euros, whose jersey he has worn before.
Rumors about the Serbian's return to the "aristocrats" spread even before the start of the January transfer window.
The defender arrived at the London club in 2009. Back then, the Slovak team MFK Kosice received 1.75 million euros for him. He has played three matches in the main team of Chelsea.
N. Matic moved to the Lisbon team in 2011 when he was included in the swap deal between Benfica and Chelsea clubs. At that time, David Luiz moved to London, and the Portuguese club received a Serbian midfielder and a sum of 25 million euros in return.
In Benfica's squad, the player played 97 matches in two and a half years, scoring 9 goals and providing one assist.
