London's "Chelsea" announced their first "major" summer acquisition - officially adding 24-year-old German national team defender Antonio Rudiger to the team.
On their official website, it is stated that A. Rudiger, who has previously worn the uniform of "Roma", signed a five-year contract with the "Blues". The transfer to the "Chelsea" club cost 34 million pounds sterling.
"I can't wait to meet my new teammates. I am proud to finally become an official player of the Chelsea club," said the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup champion upon arriving in London.
A. Rudiger, who can play in both center and full-back positions, has been defending the honor of the "Roma" team since 2015. In two seasons in Italy, the German played 72 matches and scored two goals.
Prior to that, A. Rudiger played for the "Stuttgart" team, where he began his professional career.
