London's Chelsea club on Thursday afternoon confirmed the transfer of Basel midfielder Mohamed Salah to the ranks of the "aristocrats".
The 21-year-old footballer was actively followed by Liverpool, but the Egyptian will now wear the shirt of the team led by Jose Mourinho.
Chelsea's move to acquire this player was likely influenced by the increasingly realistic transfer of Spaniard Juan Mata to Manchester United.
M.Salah began his career in his homeland, playing for the Arab Contractors club, and in 2012 he moved to Switzerland to play for 2.5 million.
Since then, the promising midfielder has played 79 matches for Basel, scoring 20 goals and providing 17 assists to his teammates.
According to unofficial data, the transfer fee for M.Salah could be around £11 million.
