Madrid's "Atletico" club held a special farewell ceremony for Diego Godin on Tuesday.
The 33-year-old footballer confirmed that he will be leaving for another team this summer. The Uruguayan has not yet confirmed where his career will take him, but it is almost certain that he will move to "Inter" in Milan.
"I am more tense than in any match," started the defender at the press conference. "Atletico" was not just a club for me, it was like my family, my life, and my home."
D. Godin joined "Atletico" back in 2010. In total, over nine years with the "rojiblancos", the Uruguayan played in 380 matches, scored 26 goals, and won eight trophies, including two appearances in the UEFA Champions League final.
Godin will play two more matches in "Atletico" colors - against "Sevilla" and "Levante".
The defender became the captain of "Atletico" after Gabi's departure. Before arriving in the Spanish capital, he played for "Villarreal" for three years.
