Dejan Lovren has signed a new four-year contract with "Liverpool," as announced on the official website. The club also has the option to extend the partnership for another season.
The center-back is securing his future with the "Reds" following in the footsteps of Philippe Coutinho, Joe Gomez, and Adam Lallana.
His previous Croatian contract was valid until 2019, but now, having signed a new one, he will stay at Liverpool longer. Under the new terms, Lovren will now earn just under £100,000 per week.
"I think it's a special day for me and my family," the 27-year-old footballer told the official Liverpool website. "I think today I am the happiest guy; it's the fulfillment of another dream of mine. My dream was always to stay as long as possible in the beloved club, which is Liverpool.
"After everything that happened at the beginning, I think I performed better in the last two seasons than the first one. The club rewarded me, they believed in me and the fans believed in me, and that's something I really appreciate after everything that happened.
"I'm happy about everything and I just want to stay here as long as possible and be a part of this family for many more years."
Lovren joined the "Reds" in 2014 from "Southampton" and has played in more than 100 matches since then.
“This is one special day for me, my family and for the club also.”
