London's "Chelsea" club officially announced reaching an agreement with Madrid's "Atletico" regarding the transfer of forward Diego Costa to the ranks of the team in the capital of England.
The team led by Jose Mourinho decided to pay the buyout clause of the Spanish national team forward, which amounts to 40 million euros.
The Portuguese coach wanted to strengthen the ranks of forwards in his team this summer, as he was not satisfied with the performance demonstrated by Fernando Torres and Demba Ba, while Samuel Eto'o left the team as a free agent.
Last season, D.Costa shone in the team led by Diego Simeone, which had an impressive season and broke the dominance of Madrid's "Real" and "Barcelona" in the Spanish championship.
D.Costa contributed to "Atletico's" triumph in the country's championships with 27 goals and 5 assists.
However, the World Cup did not go well for the footballer, as the defending champions Spain experienced a fiasco and returned home after just the group stage. D.Costa did not stand out at all.
