"Atletico" club from Madrid has reached an agreement with "Barcelona" regarding the transfer of Spain's national team striker David Villa to the capital team.
The team led by coach Diego Simeone found a replacement for striker Radamel Falcao, who left for "Monaco". There were talks that the striker would move to "Tottenham", but the deal fell through.
The "Copa del Rey" winners will pay just 5.1 million euros for the most prolific Spanish national team player of all time. "Barcelona" will also receive half of the amount for which "Atletico" would sell the striker to another club in the future.
D. Villa joined "Barcelona" in the summer of 2010. Back then, the Catalans paid a sum of 40 million euros to "Valencia" for him.
Wearing the "blaugrana" shirt, the Spaniard played 119 matches and scored 48 goals. In the Spanish national team, in 92 matches, D. Villa has scored 56 goals.
