Official: E. Dier joins Bayern squad

The Munich "Bayern" strengthened their defense with a somewhat unexpected move.

The ranks of the Bavarian club were officially augmented by Eric Dier, who arrived from "Tottenham".

Earlier it was announced that "Bayern" would pay approximately 4 million euros for this defender, but the details of the deal are somewhat different.

German journalist Florian Plettenberg revealed that E. Dier arrived for free, and "Bayern" will pay money to the "Tottenham" club only if certain conditions are met.

The contract is also short-term - until the summer with the possibility of extending it for another year.

"Bayern" coach is pleased with this signing: "He is a specialist in the center-back position, he can play on the left or right side of defense, as well as in a three-defender scheme. He has also played as a defensive midfielder in the Premier League."

This season, E. Dier did not fit into the "Tottenham" schemes. The Englishman, who spent eight years in London, played only 4 games in the Premier League in 5 months.
