"Southampton" club announced on their official Facebook account that they have reached an agreement with Bremen's "Werder" footballer Eljero Elia. The Dutch player will officially join the "Saints" on January 3rd, when the transfer window opens.
Elia will spend the remainder of the season on loan in the Premier League, and in the summer, the English club will have the option to buy the player's contract permanently.
Prior to commenting on the potential transfer of the footballer, "Southampton" manager Ronald Koeman said: "He is a good winger. We like to play with one right winger and one left winger on the field. We prefer fast players who can excel in one-on-one situations."
Elia has been playing for "Werder" since 2012, scoring four goals in 60 matches. The winger also represented the Netherlands national team in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
An interesting fact about this player is that he has co-founded a luxury clothing brand called BALR. along with another Dutch player, Demy De Zeeuw.
