Official: "Everton" acquires M. Stekelenburg

Today it was announced that "Everton" acquired goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg from "Fulham" for an undisclosed fee.

Last season Stekelenburg spent time on loan at "Southampton" where he played 17 matches. Interestingly, in this team, the goalkeeper worked with the new "Everton" manager Ronald Koeman.

"I am very happy - negotiations have been going very quickly in recent days. Koeman came to the "Everton" club and a few days ago called to inquire if I would like to join him. It was not difficult to make this decision," - said the Dutchman after joining evertontv.

The 33-year-old player played for "Fulham" since 2013, when he joined from the "Roma" team, however, he only played 21 matches for this club. With the new team, the goalkeeper signed a three-year contract.
