Official: "Everton" signed a contract with "Ajax" defender D. Klaassen

On Thursday night, Liverpool's "Everton" announced another new player - the team officially added 24-year-old midfielder Davy Klaassen from the Netherlands.

The official website stated that "Toffees" paid 27 million euros to the Amsterdam "Ajax" club for their captain. The player himself signed a five-year contract with "Everton".

"A few weeks ago I spoke with Ronald Koeman and finally decided to join this club. It was difficult to leave "Ajax", but I know that I made the right decision coming to "Everton," - said D. Klaassen.

The Dutch midfielder played for the main "Ajax" team since 2011. In total, he played 180 matches and scored 55 goals for the club.

D. Klaassen became the second "Everton" signing this summer - earlier that same day, the club acquired goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for a record amount.
