Official: F. Hierro will lead Spain in the World Cup

Unexpectedly dismissing Julen Lopetegui from the duties of the Spanish national team, the country's football federation quickly appointed a new one - Fernando Hierro, who previously served as the sports director in the federation.

Julen Lopetegui was supposed to lead the Spanish national team in the World Cup, but today he lost his job for reaching an agreement with the Madrid "Real" club yesterday.

This decision by J. Lopetegui caused some turmoil in the national team, but few believed that the federation would take such drastic measures. Other coaches - Antonio Conte and Louis van Gaal - had also clashed with clubs while leading national teams before championships, but none of the federations took such decisions.

F. Hierro has been with the national team in Russia all this time, so he is familiar with the team and their gameplay.

The former Madrid "Real" legend managed to work as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant for one year during his short coaching career and briefly become the coach of "Real Oviedo."
