Franck Ribery officially became a player of Florence's "Fiorentina" team on Wednesday afternoon.
The Italian team confirmed that they had signed a two-year contract with the experienced Frenchman. F. Ribery has been playing for Munich's "Bayern" for the past eight years.
According to unofficial data, "Fiorentina" agreed to pay the 36-year-old player 4 million euros annually.
After becoming a free agent, Ribery's name was linked to various clubs, but it was mostly expected that he would go play in the Far East or the USA.
At Bayern last season, Ribery managed to play 38 matches, score seven goals, and provide four assists.
"Fiorentina" becomes the eighth stop in the Frenchman's career - he has also played for "Boulogne", "Alest", "Brest", "Metz", "Galatasaray", and "Marseille" teams.
