32-year-old right-back Emmanuel Eboue has signed a contract until the end of the season with the "Sunderland" club, as announced on the official "Black Cats" website.
The former Ivory Coast national team defender has been a free agent since last season when he left Istanbul's "Galatasaray." E. Eboue has been training with "Sunderland" for several weeks now and the club has included the player in the squad for the remaining season.
"I dreamt of returning to the Premier League," the defender said. "I thought about it while playing in Turkey. I am pleased to be back here and will try to contribute as much as possible to the team's good results."
Most known for his time at London's "Arsenal," E. Eboue spent six years with the Gunners, played 214 matches, and scored 10 goals.
The African player, known for his sense of humor, spent four seasons in Turkey and became a three-time champion of the country.
