Official: Former "Man Utd" target S.de Vrij moves to "Lazio"

"AS Roma" officially confirmed that they have acquired Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij from the Netherlands national team and Feyenoord club.

The 22-year-old footballer, who performed excellently in the World Cup, also attracted the attention of Manchester United, but Lazio managed to lure the Dutch player for a sum of 9 million euros.

"It was not an easy decision to make, and I had to think long and hard," the defender told the official Feyenoord website. "But after many discussions, I decided to move to Rome and I am very happy."

S. de Vrij has spent his entire career at Feyenoord, where he played 153 matches and scored seven goals.

In the World Cup held in Brazil, the Dutch player played all seven matches and scored one goal in the match against Spain.
