Official: G. Buffon and G. Chiellini sign new contracts with "Juventus"

On Thursday, at a specially organized press conference, Turin's "Juventus" president Andrea Agnelli announced the successful completion of negotiations for new contracts for Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini.

G. Buffon, who has been defending the honor of the twelve-time Italian champions for thirteen years, agreed to stay at the club for at least two more seasons, while G. Chiellini signed a contract valid until the summer of 2018.

"They are symbols of the club that best represent the spirit of 'Juventus.' Through hard work and dedication, Buffon and Chiellini constantly fight for victories. They stayed with the team even when it was in 'Serie B,' and I am sure that if they had to go through hell, they would bring 'Juve' back to heaven," said A. Agnelli.

When asked if this would be the last contract signed in their careers, G. Buffon responded: "I don't know. It might be the last, or it might not."

"As it approaches its end, I will assess my ability to continue playing. If I have to stop, then I will. I have received more lucrative offers, but that's not for me. 'Juve' has given me everything I needed, and this club owes me nothing," he added.

G. Chiellini, playing his tenth season for 'Juventus,' expressed his gratitude to the club and his teammates.

"I am infinitely happy here. I always remember the people in Turin who helped me become a true man. We have no shortage of ambition and desire to win the strongest tournaments," he said.

Together, G. Buffon and G. Chiellini have played a total of 174 matches for 'Juventus,' winning 109 of them.
