„Chelsea“ club has confirmed that Guus Hiddink has been appointed as the new team's coach, and a contract with him has been signed until the end of the season.
„Premier“ league champions on Thursday fired Jose Mourinho, whose team occupied only 16th place in the English league.
„Chelsea“ won only four out of sixteen matches in the „Premier“ league, and the 1:2 loss to „Leicester City“ was the last for the coach from Portugal.
Holland will already be in today's match with „Sunderland“, but the team will still be led by Steve Holland and Eddie Newton.
„I am excited about the opportunity to return to Stamford Bridge stadium. „Chelsea“ is one of the biggest clubs in the world, but currently they are not showing it with results. Nevertheless, I am confident that we can change the course of this season. I am ready to work with the players and coaching staff in this excellent club, and most importantly, continue my great relationship with „Chelsea“ fans“, - said Hiddink in his statement after the appointment.
Hiddink has already been the temporary coach of the team, when in 2009 he replaced Luiz Felipe Scolari and won the FA Cup.
Since that time, the 69-year-old specialist has worked with the Turkish national team, the „Anzhi“ club and the Dutch national team.
