Official: G. Sigurdsson became the most expensive "Everton" purchase in club history

Liverpool's "Everton" shook the market - they acquired 27-year-old Icelandic national team defender Gylfi Sigurdsson for a record-breaking £45 million.

It is reported that the "Toffees" paid a record amount to the "Swansea" club, which survived in the English Premier League last season after major difficulties. The player himself signed a contract with the new club until 2022.

G. Sigurdsson defended the honor of the "Swans" team since 2014. As an attacking defender in the ranks of the "Swans," he managed to play 128 matches and score 37 goals in three seasons.
