Liverpool's "Everton" shook the market - they acquired 27-year-old Icelandic national team defender Gylfi Sigurdsson for a record-breaking £45 million.
It is reported that the "Toffees" paid a record amount to the "Swansea" club, which survived in the English Premier League last season after major difficulties. The player himself signed a contract with the new club until 2022.
"I hope that with my goals and assists, I can continue to help the team achieve victories and set goals," said the Icelander. - "Everton" is a very ambitious club moving in the right direction."
G. Sigurdsson defended the honor of the "Swans" team since 2014. As an attacking defender in the ranks of the "Swans," he managed to play 128 matches and score 37 goals in three seasons.
Previously, the defender has also worn the jerseys of London's "Tottenham," "Hoffenheim," "Reading," and other clubs.
In total, "Everton" has already spent around £130 million on new purchases this summer.
