"Liverpool" has officially announced on their website that they have signed a five-year contract with the Netherlands national team midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
Rumors of the 25-year-old midfielder leaving "Newcastle United" for "Liverpool" have been circulating for some time. The "Reds" paid £25 million for the former "Magpies" leader from last season, and the player has committed to the club until 2021.
"I am excited because 'Liverpool' is a big and historical club. It has always been my dream to represent a club like 'Liverpool'," the Dutchman said after signing the contract, wearing the number 5 jersey at Anfield.
"Klopp is a great person and I can't wait to start working with him. I have always admired his dedication to coaching. I am looking forward to my first training session," added the midfielder.
Last summer, G. Wijnaldum strengthened "Newcastle" when he left PSV after four years. In the previous season, the attacker scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 40 matches.
