Monchengladbach's "Borussia" defender Granit Xhaka can now be called a "gunner."
Arsenal has officially confirmed the acquisition of the 23-year-old Swiss player.
"I am very proud to become a player of the London club. I am looking forward to representing this special team in the Premier League," said Xhaka.
"I will give everything so that the gunners win trophies and the fans are happy."
Although negotiations for the player's transfer took quite a while, Arsenal likely paid 43 million euros for the 23-year-old player.
Xhaka himself signed a four-year contract and took over the number 34, which belonged to another defender, Francis Coquelin. The Frenchman does not object to these changes.
The newcomer to the Gunners will not only replace Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini, whose contracts will not be extended, but will also strengthen the team's midfield, which is constantly criticized.
