In the coaching staff of Liverpool - by mutual agreement, Roy Hodgson's contract has been terminated, and he will be replaced by Kenny Dalglish as the strategist until the end of the season.

The 63-year-old Hodgson took over the team this summer but managed to win only seven out of 20 Premier League matches. The 'Reds' are currently in 12th place in the table.

"Both sides agreed that it would be best if the coach steps down," said Liverpool owner John Henry.

Meanwhile, Hodgson stated: "The last two months have been some of the toughest in my career. It's a pity that I couldn't contribute to this team, bring in new players during the winter transfer window, and start the rejuvenation process."

He will be replaced by 59-year-old Dalglish - a legendary player and coach of the club, whose debut will be in the crucial FA Cup match against "Man Utd" on Sunday.

"We are very happy that Dalglish has agreed to take on the job in the middle of the season," added Henry.

In the summer, the club plans to look for a new long-term strategist. Among the names currently being mentioned are Frenchman Didier Deschamps, young "Porto" coach Andre Villas-Boas, Briton Owen Coyle, and Dutchman Frank Rijkaard.
