Dortmund's "Borussia" has confirmed that midfielder Ilkay Gundogan will not extend his contract with the club and is most likely to leave at the end of the season.
The German is reportedly interested in joining "Manchester United," with reports suggesting he could move to England for 30 million euros this summer.
"Dortmund's 'Borussia' and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan will no longer work together after June 30, 2016," the club's statement reads.
"Gundogan has decided not to extend his contract, which is valid until the mentioned period."
Although according to the contract he should play in Germany for the whole next season, it is most likely that BVB will sell the midfielder this summer, as they do not want to release him without a transfer fee.
In recent years, the German has been plagued by injuries. This season, in 28 matches, Gundogan scored 3 goals.
