London defender Branislav Ivanovic has extended his contract with the club until the summer of 2016.
The 26-year-old Serbian joined the capital team in early 2008, arriving from "Lokomotiv" Moscow for an undisclosed fee.
"This is great news for me, an important step in my career," Ivanovic said. "I want to help Chelsea win many trophies, as I always intended to stay here for a long time."
"There were no problems - I wanted to stay, the club wanted the same, so I want to thank everyone who contributed to it. I am happy."
Wearing Chelsea shirts for three years, the Serbian won the FA Cup tournament twice and became an English champion.
