27-year-old defender was sold for an undisclosed fee, reportedly between 6-8 million pounds sterling, and signed a four-year contract.
J. Evans became the second defender to leave Manchester United today. Earlier, Tyler Blackett was loaned to Celtic.
"This is a great purchase for our club," said West Bromwich coach Tony Pulis.
"Jonny brings a lot of experience with him and will be an important team member. He is a player I have been watching for a long time."
J. Evans's move to West Bromwich paves the way for Joleon Lescott to move to Aston Villa. The clubs have been negotiating about this player for a long time, but before selling, West Bromwich wanted to acquire a new center-back themselves.
