Official: J. Mourinho takes over as manager of "Man Utd"

Jose Mourinho's arrival at "Manchester United" - finally official. The "Red Devils" website announced that the 53-year-old specialist is taking over the head coach position from the dismissed Louis van Gaal.

Let's remind that at the beginning of the week, "Man Utd" decided to part ways with L. van Gaal's services, although his team managed to win the FA Cup on Saturday. Nevertheless, the title-winning English club decided to make changes and the controversial Portuguese will try to assemble a new team during the offseason.

The official statement indicates that J. Mourinho has signed a three-year contract, with the possibility to extend it until 2020. The strategist has not been involved in any coaching activities since the middle of the season when he was dismissed from London's "Chelsea" club.

"It is a special honor to become the coach of the Manchester United club. This is a club known and admired by the whole world. I have always felt a strong connection with Old Trafford. There are really good memories left here," - said J. Mourinho after signing the contract.

J. Mourinho will be the sixth club where he will hold the position of head coach. Previously, the Portuguese led Lisbon's "Benfica", "Uniao de Leiria", "Porto", London's "Chelsea", Milan's "Inter", and Madrid's "Real" teams.
