The Chilean Football Federation (ANFP) elected a new president, Arturo Salah, which led to disagreements with the head coach of the national team, Jorge Sampaoli, who ultimately decided to step down.
The strategist expressed his dissatisfaction back when former ANFP president Sergio Jadue resigned due to corruption allegations.
Interestingly, Sampaoli himself was under investigation during the scandal, but Salah wanted him to remain as coach.
However, the 55-year-old specialist has long shown a desire to leave and even once stated that he "is considered a hostage."
Finally, ANFP reached an agreement with Sampaoli regarding the terms of separation, and the Argentine can now look for a new job.
The coach, who led Chile to the "Copa America" gold, is interested in the London club "Chelsea."
