Borussia Dortmund confirmed that they are parting ways with 24-year-old midfielder Julian Weigl.
The "Yellow and Blacks" officially announced that they have reached an agreement with Lisbon's Benfica for the sale of the player. He has been defending the BVB colors since 2015.
According to unofficial data, the Portuguese champions paid 20 million euros for the defensive midfielder.
J. Weigl was recently linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, but his progress was halted by injuries.
Benfica has already been eliminated from the UEFA Champions League this season, but will continue their journey in the Europa League.
