Rarely appearing in the main lineup, goalkeeper Jonathan dos Santos is leaving the team "Barcelona."
On Wednesday evening, the Catalan club officially confirmed reaching an agreement with "Villarreal" regarding the sale of the 24-year-old football player.
The deal is worth 2 million euros: one and a half million will go to Barcelona immediately, and the other half a million will supplement Barcelona's budget if dos Santos escapes to the field in the Champions League matches among the "submarines." The Catalan club also retains the right to receive a certain percentage from a possible player sale in the future.
Having played in the Barcelona youth academy since 2002, dos Santos was transferred to the "Barcelona B" team in the summer of 2008, coached by current head coach Luis Enrique. After just three years, the goalkeeper found himself in the elite "Barcelona" team, but he never fully established himself there. Furthermore, the player's progress was significantly hindered by several serious injuries.
In the main lineup, dos Santos played 28 matches, but only started in 9 matches. He has 1 assist to his name.
