Madrid's "Atletico" official website announced the acquisition of "Sevilla" forward Kevin Gameiro. The 29-year-old footballer will sign a four-year contract with the UEFA Champions League finalists.
It is reported that the Spanish capital club paid 32 million euros for the Frenchman and agreed to loan Luciano Vietto for the season. Atletico will pay an additional 4 million euros for the Argentine's loan, and depending on K. Gameiro and the team's results, "Sevilla" could receive another 5 million euros. Thus, this transfer to the Madrid team could cost 41 million euros.
For a long time, rumors circulated in the Catalan press that one of the mentioned footballers (Gameiro or Vietto) would move to "Barcelona", but "Sevilla" and "Atletico" did not allow it to happen.
The official website states that K. Gameiro will arrive in Madrid today and undergo a medical examination.
The French forward arrived at "Sevilla" from PSG in 2013. Last season was the most successful of his career - he scored 29 goals in 52 games played.
In total, K. Gameiro played 140 matches for "Sevilla", scored 67 goals, and won the UEFA Europa League three times.
