Official: K. Mbappe becomes a member of PSG

"Paris Saint-Germain" finally officially announced the acquisition of talent from "Monaco" Kylian Mbappe. Initially, the 18-year-old will be loaned out to the capital club.

Parisians took this step in order to bypass the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules, as they already acquired the "Barcelona" star Neymar this summer for an impressive sum of 222 million euros.

After the end of the loan agreement, the striker will sign a new contract with PSG, which will be valid until July 2022.

Mbappe burst onto the football scene just last season, delighting "Monaco" fans with goals in cup competitions and eventually breaking into the starting lineup for the most important matches in the French championship.

In all competitions last season, the forward played 44 matches, scoring 26 goals and providing 14 assists. He shone not only in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals against "Manchester City," but also scored against Gianluigi Buffon's goal.

Several English clubs were interested in him, with London's "Arsenal" and Madrid's "Real" actively pursuing him, but they couldn't compete with the offer from PSG. According to reports, the 18-year-old will cost a staggering 180 million euros.

"I am joining 'Paris Saint-Germain' with great joy and pride," said Mbappe. "Wearing the red and blue jersey and experiencing the unique atmosphere at 'Parc des Princes' is often a dream of every young person from the Paris region."

"I truly wanted to be a part of a club project that is one of the most ambitious in Europe. I intend to progress further with my teammates and help the team achieve very high goals they have set for themselves."
