Official: K. Piatekas shakes hands with a "Bundesliga" club

Krzysztof Piatek did not stay in Italy - the 24-year-old Pole officially signed a contract with Berlin's "Hertha".

The ambitious team from Berlin, having set ambitious goals after Jurgen Klinsmann's arrival, paid €27 million for the Polish national team striker. He signed a long-term contract with his new club.

This winter, K. Piatek was linked with English clubs - London's "Tottenham" and "Man Utd". However, both teams were only interested in a short-term loan, so negotiations with "Milan" were impossible.

"Milan" invited the promising forward to join their ranks last winter, when he played a fantastic half-season for the "Genoa" team.

Piatek's career at Milan started off quite well - he scored 11 goals in his first 21 games. However, this season has been quieter - the Pole scored 5 goals in 20 games, with most of them from the penalty spot.

The Milan club lost €8 million, as they paid €35 million to "Genoa" for him.
