The drama of talented Belgian national team defender Kevin De Bruyne has come to an end - "Manchester City" officially confirmed that they have acquired the footballer from "Wolfsburg" for an impressive sum of money.
The future of the 24-year-old defender in the "wolves" team has been unclear since the beginning of summer. Several European giants showed interest in him, but "Man City" managed to outbid other clubs in the race for the Belgian's signature with a sum of 75 million euros.
The player himself has signed a six-year contract with the English vice-champions. This means that the former "Chelsea" player should remain with the "cityzens" at least until 2021.
De Bruyne has had a taste of English Premier League football, but very little. From 2012 to 2014, he was a player of "Chelsea," but he spent only half a year there.
De Bruyne started defending the honor of "Wolfsburg" from the second half of the 2013-14 season. In total, wearing the "wolves" kit, the footballer appeared on the pitch 72 times and scored 20 goals.
This is the third major acquisition for "Man City" this summer. Previously, the team added Raheem Sterling for 67 million euros and center-back Nicolas Otamendi for 42 million euros. The "cityzens" also strengthened their squad with Fabian Delph and Patrick Roberts.
