One of "Atletico" defenders Lucas Hernandez rejected offers from other teams and decided to remain loyal to the Madrid club. According to the press, even "Manchester United" was interested in the talented player, but the Frenchman did not want to try his luck abroad.
It has been officially announced that L. Hernandez has signed a new contract, which will be valid until the summer of 2022.
"He is strong, fast, and despite being quite young, incredibly mature. Lucas has already played in very important matches and has never disappointed," said director Jose Caminero.
It is worth noting that a couple of months ago, the player was involved in a scandal - he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend to the point where she ended up in the hospital. He was arrested in Madrid but it seems that he managed to avoid more serious consequences.
This season, L. Hernandez did not score any goals in "La Liga" championship in 12 matches.
