„Barcelona“ president Jose Maria Bartomeu reached his goal - Lionel Messi officially confirmed that he is staying in the team. The Argentine, who wanted to leave to „Manchester City“, could not do so because of the release clause in his contract. In a video recording, L. Messi said: „I was not happy and wanted to leave. I was not given the opportunity, so I will stay in the club. I do not want this to go to court. Bartomeu and his management team are a real disaster. The president constantly repeated that the only way to leave the team is to pay the release clause to another club, which is impossible. However, after the season, he said it was my choice."  Let's remember that. L. Messi even sent an official letter to the „Barcelona“ management stating his intention to leave the club. However, „Barcelona“ responded to the Argentine's desires very simply - by reminding him of the 700 million euro release clause. The current Argentine's contract is valid until the summer of next year. Therefore, after the end of the season, L. Messi will be able to leave „Barca“ completely for free.
