Official: "Leicester City" sacked C. Shakespeare

After winning just one victory in eight "Premier" league matches, "Leicester City" has dismissed head coach Craig Shakespeare, as reported on the official "Foxes" website.

It is reported that Monday's draw with "West Bromwich Albion" became the final straw for the club's management.

Interestingly, Shakespeare led the "Foxes" only since February, when he took over the team from sacked Claudio Ranieri, with whom they were in the relegation zone after a successful season.

After taking over the reins, the club immediately recovered and eventually finished 12th, but started poorly this season and currently occupies 16th place.

Before becoming head coach, Shakespeare worked as an assistant for seven years, and the leaders had hoped for continuity by promoting him. That is why his dismissal is unexpected, as there were no rumors about it.

The main candidates to succeed the 53-year-old specialist are named as Alan Pardew, Guus Hiddink, Gary Rowett, Sam Allardyce, and Nigel Pearson.
