Leverkusen's "Bayer" and "Liverpool" announced on their official websites that an agreement had been reached for Emre Can to move to the "Reds" team.
The 20-year-old defensive midfielder became Liverpool's second purchase this summer. Earlier, Brendan Rodgers' team confirmed the acquisition of Southampton striker Rickie Lambert.
At the moment, no further details are provided, but it is believed that the English vice-champions will pay around 10 million euros for the rising German star.
"Emre has rapidly improved over the past twelve months at Bayer, and we did not want to sell him. We wish him success in the English Premier League," said the club's sports director Michael Schade.
E. Can played only one season in Leverkusen's team. Last summer, Bayer acquired the German from Munich's "Bayern". This season, in 39 matches played, he scored 4 goals.
