Mesut Ozil will continue to wear Arsenal's jersey - the German national team's midfielder has signed a new long-term contract with the "Gunners".
The future of the 29-year-old footballer was uncertain not long ago, as not only other European giants showed interest in him, but also his contract with Arsenal was coming to an end - it was valid until the summer of this year.
However, M. Ozil decided to link his future with Arsenal and today officially put his signature on a new contract.
The German will not be left without punishment - he will receive a weekly wage of 350,000 pounds, making him the best-paid Arsenal player of all time.
M. Ozil unexpectedly arrived at Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013. In total, the German has already played 182 matches in the ranks of the Gunners, scored 36 goals, and made 61 assists.
The attacking midfielder helped Arsenal win the FA Cup trophy three times.
