"Tottenham Hotspur" team today announced that they have reached an agreement with head coach Mauricio Pochettino, whose contract has been extended for another five years. The Argentinian signed the contract after leading the team to the top four in the Premier League for the third consecutive season, so the club will also compete in the Champions League tournament next year. The new contract is valid until the summer of 2023, and unofficial data suggests that the coach will be paid an annual salary of £8.5 million (€9.7 million). There have been rumors recently that clubs like Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich were interested in this coach, but the 46-year-old strategist decided to stay with the current team, where he has been working since 2014. Other members of the coaching staff have also extended their contracts. It is said that the club owner convinced the coach to stay by promising to allocate £150 million (approximately €171 million) for new transfers this summer. It is also expected that following Pochettino's decision, key players such as Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Jan Vertonghen, Hugo Lloris, and Christian Eriksen may also be offered new contracts with Tottenham.
We are delighted to announce that Mauricio Pochettino has signed a new five-year contract with the Club, which runs until 2023.
First Team Coaching staff Jesús Pérez, Miguel D’Agostino & Toni Jimenez have also agreed new contracts.
