"Manchester City" officially confirmed the rising German football star Leroy Sane's transfer from "Schalke" in Gelsenkirchen for £37 million. The German club indicated yesterday that the 20-year-old winger traveled to Manchester to finalize the formalities. Today, the transfer was officially confirmed, and the player himself signed a five-year contract.
"I feel great and I am happy to be here," Sane told the official "Man City" club website. "Now I just need to settle in Manchester and play for 'City'."
"One of the reasons I chose 'Man City' is Pep Guardiola. He convinced me to come here, and I know I have the opportunity to improve. I know I can learn a lot from this coach and take the next step in my career," added the German.
Sane made his debut in the main team of "Schalke" in 2014. Last season, the young footballer appeared in 42 matches and scored nine goals. Sane became the fifth new player for "Man City" this summer. Previously, the team was reinforced by Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito, Aleks Zinchenko, and Aaron Mooy.
