Official: "Man City" purchased "Atletico" goalkeeper Rodri's contract

Madrid's "Atletico" confirmed that the "Manchester City" officially bought out the contract of 23-year-old defensive midfielder Rodri.

A year ago, the Spaniard returned to "Atletico" with a buyout clause of 70 million euros in his contract. The sought-after player by Munich's "Bayern" and other major European clubs chose the "citizens," and they activated the buyout clause specified in his contract.

"Manchester City" paid the buyout clause for Rodrigo at the "La Liga" headquarters. The player unilaterally terminated his contract with our club," - we announce in the official "Atletico" statement.

Rodri becomes the most expensive purchase in the history of "Man City's" cube. The player is already on his way to England and will sign a long-term contract today or tomorrow.

Last season, he played 47 matches and scored three goals.

Before returning to "Atletico," he began his professional career and played for "Villarreal" until 2018.
