On Tuesday night it was officially announced that 42-year-old football specialist Vincenzo Montella has become the new head coach of AC Milan.
Last season, the team was led by Serbian Siniša Mihajlović, but he was dismissed in April. Temporary coach Cristian Brocchi took over, but now Milan has found a new strategist.
V. Montella is one of the most promising Italian coaches. Last season, he managed Sampdoria but with limited success - they finished 15th in Serie A.
However, the coach is best known for his time at Fiorentina. He led the Florence team from 2012 to 2015. During this period, he reached the semifinals of the Europa League and the final of the Italian Cup.
V. Montella has signed a two-year contract with AC Milan.
