Official: "Napoli" buys "Empoli" defender for 10 million euros.

The team that finished second in the Italian Serie A championship and is preparing for the UEFA Champions League next season, Napoli, officially announced their first newcomer.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis shared a photo on his official Twitter account and wrote that the 26-year-old Empoli center-back Lorenzo Tonelli is joining the club.

Although the duration of L. Tonelli's contract is not disclosed yet, rumors in Italy suggest that Napoli paid 10 million euros for the Italian.

The player himself wrote on his Facebook account: "I will miss everyone, but I leave you with a smile. I have learned a lot here and I want to thank the whole Empoli team."

L. Tonelli is a product of Empoli's youth academy. He made his debut in the main team in 2010, and this season he played 26 matches in the Serie A championship and scored two goals.
