Official: "New York City" acquired the striker from the Spanish national team D. Villa

"Manchester City" daughter team "New York City" has officially acquired Madrid's "Atletico" forward David Villa.

Information about the agreement with the Spaniard was already announced earlier in the Spanish media, and today the information has been confirmed. It is believed that 32-year-old footballer will be joined by London's "Chelsea" midfielder Frank Lampard.

The Spaniard played only one season in the ranks of "Rojiblancos" and became a "Primera" champion. Earlier, D.Villa defended the honor of "Barcelona" club.

"Throughout my career, I have always motivated myself to pursue new goals, and moving to the USA is one of my goals," said the forward, who went to the 2014 World Cup with the Spanish national team.

"I want to contribute to the growth of MLS. Working hard and aiming for the highest goals, I hope to make "New York City" the strongest club in the league," D.Villa concluded.

With "Atletico" last season, the Spaniard scored 15 goals and made 4 assists in 47 matches played.
