From the club, they acquired the country's guard Gabriel Obertan. The value of the deal is about 4 million euros. The footballer signed a five-year contract.
"Gabriel is a fast and technical player. Over the past years, he has certainly improved," said Newcastle manager Alan Pardew.
Obertan moved to Manchester in the summer of 2009 from Bordeaux, but he couldn't establish himself in the main lineup.
In 28 matches for the 'Red Devils', the Frenchman scored only one goal. Last season, Obertan took to the field only 11 times.
