"Newcastle" has found a replacement for Demba Ba, who left for London's "Chelsea" - the team's website announced that the club has acquired Bordeaux forward Yoan Gouffran.
Although the official transfer fee is undisclosed, it is believed that the English team paid 1.4 million pounds for the 26-year-old former French U-21 national team player.
Gouffran, who can also play as a winger, signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the "Magpies".
The player, who will wear the number eleven jersey, had a previous contract with Bordeaux that was valid until June 30, 2013."
