Official: Neymar signed a new contract with Barcelona

"Barcelona" fans can breathe a sigh of relief - the surprise didn't happen and one of the club's leaders Neymar will continue to defend the team's colors for a long time.

On Friday it was officially announced that the Brazilian put his signature on a new contract valid until 2021.

For his loyalty to "Barcelona", he will be paid a total of 115 million euros (taxes included), and the buyout clause of the 24-year-old forward will increase from 200 million to 222 million euros starting from June next year, and a year later to 250 million euros.

"I am very happy to have extended my contract with the club, because I feel at home here. The team is represented by incredible footballers and I was nervous before arriving here. However, I quickly realized in the dressing room that the players do not walk on clouds. This helped me establish myself in the Barcelona team," said Neymar.

In this La Liga season, the striker has scored 4 goals in 6 matches.
