Official: Pepe returns to play for "Porto"

Reports about Pepe's desire to move to "Monaco" did not materialize - the 35-year-old defender has signed a contract with his former club.

On the official website of "Porto", it was announced that they have reached an agreement with the former Real Madrid player until 2021. Pepe has been a free agent since December.

Pepe played this season for Istanbul's "Besiktas" club, but due to financial problems, the Turks could not pay the Portuguese player's salary, so by mutual agreement, the contract was terminated.

The defender is very familiar with the "Porto" team - he played here from 2004 to 2007, when he was bought by Real Madrid for 30 million euros.

During his three seasons in the Porto team, the Portuguese played 89 matches, scored eight goals, and became the country's champion twice.

Pepe will re-establish cooperation with Iker Casillas at Porto - they played together in Real Madrid for eight years.
